Llanelli Carp & Coarse Fishing Club is a club set up to teach juniors and any adults that wish to learn to fish.

We have four CRB checked coaches and four members have a full First Aid Certificate. We have applied for two grants; one from Carmarthenshire County Council (Start Up Grant) and one from the Communities FIrst Trust Fund. With these monies we were able to pay for coaching licences, get our First Aid certificates and purchase our first year's insurance for the club.

We were also able to get our logos made up and get badges, hats and jackets for club members. We have purchased a lot of fishing equipment for our coaching sessions, anyone wishing to come along may use this equipment.

For 2009 we are joining forces with the Millenium coastal Rangers and Managment to open up the ponds along the Coastal Path. Thier will be 8-10 pegs top end of Sandy Water Park Members only, fishing dawn to one hour after dark.

Pwll will be day ticket water, fishing dawn till dark. Teal will be day ticket water with season ticket holders able to fish nights,

Specimen lake will have 5 pegs put in fishing from these pegs only.

There is a lot of work needed to put things right and we are looking for people to help us to put in new platforms and opening the swims any one intrested in giving a hand on work parties please let the chairman know.

 

A trophy has kindly been donated by the Glanmor Neighbourhood Watch which will be passed to the junior with the most points at the end of each year.

We also have a trophy donated by Terry Jones Roofing Contractor for heaviest weight at end of year.

All competitions are now run on a point system, first place 4 points, second place 3 points, third place 2 points. 1 point for every member turning up.
